Joyful Birth™ Lamaze Retreat Photos
Joyful Birth™ Lamaze retreats are not only educational...they are fun! As part of the artwork "assignments," couples get the chance to make a belly cast, to help them focus on their unborn baby.
Beginning Friday evening, and continuing over the weekend, they think about and then complete their belly cast design. During the time they are working and imaging, they gain greater insight into ideas they want for their baby's birth. Doing art projects helps couples form a stronger bond with each other as they share ideas and the exercises.
This page highlights the September 2007 retreat. The following page shows January 2008.

Spiritual Connection...
Having a baby is a profoundly spiritual event, which is often displayed in the class artwork. Stephanie and Rachel called their belly cast "Dreaming of my baby's connection to me---to spirit."

Beautiful Transformations
Like labor itself, these casts are unique expressions. Sathi is almost finished with painting her cast.
